Trump Scores Endorsement From Latino Rapper Anuel AA
At his rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania former president Trump brought out puerto rican reggaeton rapper Anuel AA. This endorsement seemed to be a win for the trump campaign as the reggaeton endorsement brought in voters in the puerto rican communities. While not impossible, gaining support from minority communities appears to be tougher for the Trump campaign compared to their opponent. Anuel provides the campaign with a great opportunity to appeal to those who never really considered voting for him prior to this rally.
Trump himself confirms this campaign strategy by saying, "Do you know who the hell they are? Come up here fast, fellas, come on, because I don’t think these people know who the hell you are. But it’s good for the Puerto Rican vote. Every Puerto Rican is going to vote for Trump right now. We’ll take it.” (Carrasquillo 2024).

What's up Alicia!
ReplyDeleteAnuel AA is one of my most listened latino rappers and I found it interesting how he chose to endorse Trump. Whether it was due to money or just how he perceives Trump , it was ironic how everyone was saying Trump will not approve the likes of the latin community yet received more than expected support from them.
