The Beyonce Effect: Harris's Texas rally earns singer's endorsement and attendance.

On Thursday morning it was announced on Kamala Harris's campaign website that her Friday night rally will include the likes of country/folks singer Willie Nelson and the global superstar Beyonce, sparking much conversation on various news sources and social media sites. This official announcement from Harris's campaign team months after it was previously announced by gossip site TMZ that Beyonce was performing at the DNC. However this time, multiple reputable news sources have in fact confirmed the Texas native's presence.

While Beyonce has allowed Harris to use her song "Freedom" as her promotional and campaign song, the award-winning mogul has yet to verbally endorse Harris before this Friday's rally. 

Having a massive superstar like Beyonce as an endorsement will only add to one's campaign. With such a large fanbase as Beyonce has, these are potential voters on the scale of thousands or even many more that can be used to further yourself from your candidate. According to the Houston Chronicle, over 1 million people have signed up to attend the rally. This amount exceeds the seat occupancy of the venue ( the Shell Energy Stadium) which only seats up to 20,656 seats.  

Harris's rally in Texas was aimed at women's reproductive rights and targeting Trump's abortion bans in southern states. Beyonce's message shows her stance as a mother who fears the potential world young women may experience if Trump's extreme bans continue. Strategists say that among various groups, young women are one the lowest in voter turnout. It is the Harris Campaign's hope that the presence of Beyonce can change this on November 5, 2024

    I think Beyonce's endorsement will be important in getting apolitical voters to turn up for the election, but I find it to be a little funny considering how silent she has been on politics in the last few years, particularly where international affairs are concerned. We have had several outspoken celebrities like Chappell Roan or Ethel Cain (for example) who have shown a layer of support for Harris while also criticizing her shortcomings and lack of policy. Her endorsement, like Taylor Swift's, will prove to be important in getting voters to feel incentivized to go to the polls which is a net positive.

    I was a viewer of the campaign rally and it was very informational on mothers who risked there lives to give birth because they were denied permission to abort the baby and how a mother had to both grieve her child and recover the strength of her body because her body experienced pain when giving birth. It pulled empathy of viewers by being vulnerable about the unfair policies on women's bodies and the risk of life and death on the line when in that position.

Harris Campaign gains big with Taylor Swift Endorsement

  After Tuesday night's presidential debate between Harris and Trump, international popstar Taylor Swift shocked many with an official endorsement for Harris for president in November. Swift took to Instagram with a lengthy post, stating that she is voting for Harris and Waltz because "she fights for the same right and causes that I do." Swift also calls out the vast amount of AI-generated images of her endorsing Trump, saying that she felt the need to be transparent with her endorsement.  This is a major win for the Harris campaign as Swift has over 283 million followers on Instagram and a loyal fan base. Endorsement Gone Wrong?? Artist Nicky Jam Pulls back his Trump endorsement after controversial rally

       Spanish Singer Nicky Jam walks back his prior endorsement for Trump his afternoon in a video. The singer states "The reason I endorsed Trump was because I thought he was best for the economy in the US, where a lot of Latinos live... I never thought a month later a comedian would speak bad about my country. Puerto Rico deserves respect."  This announcement comes after Trump very controversial rally last friday at Madison State Garden, where many of the present event speakers have gone viral for saying outlandish things.
